About Karrie Loomis

Hi! I love traveling, taking pictures, and writing. I’m the treasurer and also on the conference committee for the Hampton Roads Writers Organization (HRW). And, I’m proud to say, in 2019 and 2020, The Writer magazine named HRW’s conference the best writers’ conference in Virginia. And in 2019 our writers’ conference was featured in Writers Digest. I have also taught creative writing classes to veterans for The Muse Writers Center, which is one of the largest writing centers in the country. “The Rocking Horse,” a stranger-danger, middle grade, fiction, is my first published book. Currently, I write personal essays and am working on a women’s fiction novel. I facilitate and host writers’ retreats and coach writers on character development, and creativity. I am also a Reiki Master and Spiritual Life Coach.

I grew up in Mason, a small farming town in Michigan. After high school, I spent six years as an electronics technician in the US Navy . I was fortunate to get stationed in Greece for eleven months. And I spent three years on-board the USS Carter Hall, which took me to numerous US ports as well as 18 countries throughout South America, Africa, and the Mediterranean. My experience in the Navy gave me an appreciation—fascination—of the diversity in humanity’s cultures and religions. After my enlistment, I earned a B.S. in psychology with a minor in religious studies. I continue to study religions and philosophies of the world. My current favorite studies to that regard include Hinduism and Eastern Yoga. Over the years, I’ve also enjoyed studying quantum mechanics.

Currently, I’m studying courses from the University of Metaphysical Sciences and earning a Master of Arts Degree in Transpersonal Psychology, with a focus on creativity and applied spirituality, from Atlantic University. I’ve received training in spiritual mentoring and earned a certification in dream work/interpretation. My Reiki journey begin in February of 2020, and I received my Reiki Master training and Ignitions from William Rand in January of 2022. Throughout my life, I’ve experienced a handful of mystical experiences, and had my first pronounced spiritual awakening in 2006. In 2018, I spent seven weeks in Ecuador, which turned out to be a trip that changed my life. In 2019, I spent three magical weeks in Thailand. And I experienced another profound spiritual awakening in December of 2021 during a trip to Tennessee for a satsang with Sadhguru at his ashram. I experientially understand that we are all one, the kingdom of Heaven is within, and I am in this world but not of it. I also now know that awakenings are just the beginning of a spiritual journey, not the end. Please feel free to ask me about my journey, if you are so inclined. The most important thing for you to know is this new expansion of consciousness I’m awakening to is also within you, whether you recognize it yet or not. And, once you begin awakening to it, you will see how powerful you are as the creator of your reality. I’m available for in person/distance Reiki sessions as well as in person/distance spiritual life coaching.

Please contact me and we’ll set up a time to chat about how Reiki and/or mentoring can benefit your journey to empowerment through Self-realization. Or, if you are ready, schedule a session!

What People Say

I had a distance reiki session with Karrie that was super powerful. She was calming and comforting while I was in a lot of pain! Sometimes these episodes would last 12-18 hours for me- and after the reiki session resolved in just a couple hours! So grateful for this help Karrie!

I had a reiki session with Karrie 4 days after a bi malleolar fracture (fancy word for breaking a couple of bones in my ankle). Not only was the pain in my ankle completely gone after the session, but also the crazy nerve sensations had stopped. I was able to go without pain meds until I had surgery. Most powerful reiki I have ever experience.

I absolutely loved my first three Reiki sessions and find that when I go to sleep at night, the images I had during my sessions come to me and I relax and sleep better
